Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 1, 2026
This app, Professor Grant Horner's Bible Reading System ("the app"), is operated by The Master's University ("we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions: mail@masters.edu.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and display name, provided when you sign up with email or sign in with Google.
- Reading data: your ten bookmark positions, chapters marked read, completion dates, per-list cycle counts, badges earned, and any connection notes you choose to write. This is the core data that makes the tracker work.
- Notification data: if you enable the daily reminder, we store your push subscription and your reminder time and timezone so we can send one reminder per day.
- Technical data: basic log and device information needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use it
- To provide the reading tracker and sync your progress across your devices when you are signed in.
- To send the single daily reminder you opt into, at your chosen time. You can turn reminders off at any time in settings.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads.
Service providers we rely on
- Lovable Cloud (Supabase) hosts our backend, authentication, and database.
- Google provides optional sign-in (Google OAuth).
- Crossway's ESV API provides Bible passage text, fetched on demand through our server when you read in the app. We do not store the full Bible text.
- Browser push services deliver your daily reminder notifications.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Data retention and your choices
- Your reading data is kept while your account is active.
- You can delete your account and associated data; contact mail@masters.edu or use the account deletion option in settings if available.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information (for example under the CCPA or GDPR). To exercise these, contact mail@masters.edu.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
We protect your data with access controls (row-level security scoping data to your account) and keep service credentials on the server, never in the browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures.
Changes
We may update this policy and will revise the "Last updated" date above.
